Beginnings

We all know what fun it is to be starting a new project! (I hang my head in shame to admit that some of us start a few too many, but it's fun anyway.) What's even more satisfying is to share these beginnings with another person, a friend, another bird of the same feather.
Besides the involvement we have with our own more complex pieces, I hope everyone is aware of the opportunity we have to expose a beginner to the challenge of lacemaking on the PLS pillow, available from the library. Extra bobbins are there too. No excuses, anyone can learn. We brought the pillow with us for domonstrations to the Clackamas County and the State Fairs. Several visitors to the display, especially young people were noticeably surprised at how simple the first steps in lacemaking could be. (No, we didn't regale them with cautions about more elaborate patterns!) Just remember the pillow is there for your use at the first inclination of a friend or acquaintance to learn lacemaking!
